Trust God and Be Merciful

If you feel that you are far from God, if you feel that you’re not following closely his ways, or it seems that things haven’t gone as promised. When you cannot trace God’s hand, you can trust his heart. God loves you. Your future is secured. So your focus can be on the presence. You are released from indecision. You can decide to make changes now because you know that God has your future sorted out. We can trust him. We can trust that he is with us every step of the way even when it doesn’t feel much like it.

Psalm 84:12 says, “O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusts in you.”

But the Christian life isn’t just to sit back and collect heavenly welfare. It’s work, it’s warfare, it’s trusting God and making those hard decisions to align ourselves with God’s ways.

“For you shall eat the labour of your hands: you shall be happy, and it shall be well with you.” Psalm 128:2

Trust in God, follow him. Work in his way for as part of his mission in the world and it shall be well with you. You will be happy. Treat other people as God treats them.

“He that has mercy on the poor, happy is he.” Proverbs 14:21
