BHS the sequel? The latest news on an icon of the high street.

Is this a further betrayal of the workers and investors? British Home Stores is back from the dead but only online. I took time time out before recording the weekly Mark and Pete podcast to comment on the breaking news of the re-launch of BHS.

British Homes Stores or BHS is still a household name but it failed as a business in the end. The soaring overheads coupled with purportedly poor management under Philip Green let to its closure. It seemed that that was the end. However, recently the company was bought up by Dominic Chappell who appeared to have no plans for it and then by Qatari group Al Mana. BHS had already launched a small online store and the new owners have the rights to the brand online. Hence the rebirth online but Oh what might have been had BHS diversified effectively and created an effective and efficient online presence before it was too late to save the high street stores. And in this video we also have a quick look round one of the BHS flagship stores gutted and emptied for closure, a sad sight for a once proud brand.
